Hardanger Fiddle

Unique to Norway is an instrument known as the Hardanger Fiddle.  I was never sure how it was different from an orchestral violin, but now I know thanks to the information at the Edvard Grieg museum!

Hopefully you can see the extra strings under and between the 2nd and 3rd regular strings of the fiddle.

Maybe you can click on this youtube link to hear some: http://youtu.be/Di1F8GUvEtg
Or google Hardanger Fiddle and find  "Haakon Solaas."
