Bergen Museum

Today, Tonnes needed to work, so Warren and I did a day on our own.  We took the bus to Bergen City Center and spent several hours at the University of Bergen Museum; it is divided into two buildings, Natural History and Cultural History.  We thoroughly enjoyed both.  Then we walked back through town to the main market area, found a book store and little mini-mall.

Tonnes fixed us a wonderful dinner of reindeer steak (small pieces, thinly sliced) in a creamy gravy sauce with mushrooms and peas.  This was served with boiled potatoes and carrots, and a mountain berry jam called "tytterbaersyltetoy."  That's a mouthful even in Norwegian!  It was VERY yummy!  I'll try to remember to take pictures of these new things we are eating.

Here are a few photos of my favorite things in the museum today.

This is Norli, a big bookstore chain in Norway;
 inside this building is a  shopping mall, about 6 stories high.
We found a great little super market there!
